I was a straight-A student at WPI studying engineering. But when I showed up at my first career fair, I bombed. No interviews. No traction. Just confusion. Why wasn’t my academic success translating to job offers?

🧪 I Started Testing What Actually Worked…
That summer, I applied to the ultra-competitive UPenn GRASP Lab (only 8 accepted nationwide). I had no connections. No name recognition. Just a project and a pitch. I got in. And that one project changed everything.
💼 One Project → $50,000 Co-op at 20 Years Old
The next year, I returned to the same career fair with a portfolio and a clear story. One 30-minute conversation with a Pratt & Whitney leader led to an 8-month co-op — testing jet engines for the A320neo. That co-op paid me $50,000 — before I even had a degree. What got me in? Not a 4.0 GPA. Not a fancy certificate. A clear pitch, real projects, and presentation skills.
